Prestwick Chase had a very patriotic and moving flag dedication ceremony take place in Congress Hall. The concept was floated by Mr. & Mrs. Eschbach, residents of Prestwick Chase. Mr. Eschbach is a veteran of the Vietnam War. The two had thought it would be nice to have a permanent display honoring all the veterans who reside in the community. The display is in our Penfield Library for all to see.
They had a Honor Guard come in to take part in the presentation, the history of the flag being donated was given and the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner. It was a wonderful and moving scene to witness. With the 250th birthday of the nation almost upon us, what better way to say thank you, to all the service men and women. Even the fact that this gathering took place in Prestwick Chase’s “Congress Hall”, was so fitting to the theme.
