With summer at full speed ahead, Prestwick Chase has been prepping its 120 acres of land, for the beautiful days to come. The summer weather is one of the most popular times at Prestwick due to the outdoor fun to be had. With five ponds equipped with fountains, a putting green, our raised garden beds, and the patio, which is the home of our wood fire oven, Prestwick offers hands on activities, along side relaxation time.
Our patio, which is open for lunch and dinner, is the location of a few special events that go on in our senior independent living community. We recently celebrated Memorial Day, and had a cook out complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, swordfish kabobs and much more! This June we have a few special events that will be taking place on the patio including live music and a special dinner that our chefs will be whipping up. And as long as weather is permitting there will be a s’mores party on June 27th. A cozy night under the stars, where we toast marshmallows, have a bonfire, snuggle up in some blankets, and enjoy a relaxing night.
Last year we built raised garden beds for our green thumbed residents to plant flowers and vegetables. Planting has already begun this year and because it was such a great turn out, we have added an additional three raised beds to the current collection. Each garden bed is in direct light to give the plants plenty of sunlight and they each have their own watering system so you don’t have to go far with your watering can. As the season continues we will post pictures of the gardens progression.
We have a 9-hole putting green on location. Each year we have a friendly putting competition, which begins in July, and go throughout the month of August. On September 16th we have our final Championship playoff game, followed by a golf banquet where the winners are awarded a prize.
One of the biggest perks of Prestwick Chase is the location. Prestwick is located only three miles from downtown Saratoga, which makes it easy for our residents to experience historical Saratoga Springs. Our outdoor fun doesn’t just stop on the campus of Prestwick. We offer transportation, and this month we are even doing a sidewalk stroll, to fully experience Broadway life.
