Today the bee hives of Prestwick Chase were serviced. The colonies are thriving. When the colonies arrived they held 5,000 bees to start. It is now estimated that the 5 colonies have grown to 50,000 per colony. The bees fly routes up to 2 miles away from the hive in search of their food. The harvest of honey is going to be in the fall period. Residents watched up close the checking of the health of the hives today.
